Disney Cruise Blog: Day 2

Good morning from Nassau, Bahamas!

There’s nothing like getting out of bed, making the 6 foot walk to your balcony door to see the turquoise water under the morning sun.  If you win this Disney Cruise Line Vacation, you’ll be able to have your morning coffee with the same backdrop.  It’s really amazing to watch this massive ship, maneuver so gracefully into port.  I was actually watching while I tidied up my stateroom and made my bed.  I know you’re thinking, “but you’re on a luxurious ship with a top notch housekeeping staff whose job is to make sure you don’t have to do that! Why are you making your bed?  Are you crazy?” The answer to that question is yes, absolutely, but I’m crazy AND tidy.

Last night we took in The Golden Mickeys in the Walt Disney Theater where the shows are always - ALWAYS - Broadway caliber.  You forget you’re in the middle of the ocean.  Later on today we’ll disembark and do a little exploring in Nassau.  We’ll have some conch fritters - DELICIOUS - and do a little shopping, before coming back onboard the Disney Dream to have a late afternoon cocktail poolside in the adult only area of the ship.  That’s one of the best parts of the vacation!  Not the cocktails, but they help don’t get me wrong.  No, the best part is there’s something for everyone. If you don’t have kids you can hang in the 18 plus area, and if you do have kids, you can can feel 100% secure letting them explore the Oceaneer’s club or any of the other kid-only areas while you relax. Dinner tonight is at the Enchanted Garden and if it’s anything like last night’s experience it should be spectacular.

You’ll be happy to know, as I sit here finishing my little cruise diary, a crew member, better known as my pal Stitch, dropped off this adorable little towel puppy! That’s the Disney touch, the little, but MAGICAL, details.  Now I just  need to learn how to make my own towel art.  Hopefully Stitch can give me a quick lesson!
