MAKING HISTORY

NFL official Sarah Thomas will make history again this weekend when she takes the field at Gillette Stadium. Thomas will work the Los Angeles Chargers-New England Patriots matchup on Sunday, joining Ron Torbert’s crew in Foxboro, to become the first female referee to officiate a playoff game in league history. She made history in 2015, when she was hired by the NFL to be the first full-time female official in league history. She spent the past two seasons as a down judge after starting out as a line judge, and was named an alternate for the Atlanta Falcons-Los Angeles Rams’ wild-card playoff game in 2017.

OH .... AND THERE'S A RALLY HAPPENING.... YOU COULD WIN TICKETS TO THE GAME!

Before the Patriots storm the field at Gillette to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC Divisional round the Patriots Street Team will host a Playoff Rally outside the Foxboro stadium from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Folks are encouraged to huddle up in Lot 4A, adjacent to the Winter Skate ice rink. There, everyone will be able to show their team spirit and take part in plenty of peppy activities, including: a Q&A session with Patriots Hall of Famer Kevin Faulk; a touchdown dance competition and a trivia contest that’ll have winners going home with autographed memorabilia; performances and meet-and-greet opportunities with the Patriots cheerleaders; and an appearance from the End Zone Militia’s musket-wielding men. If that’s not reason enough to get your rally on, the event will also offer a chance to win tickets to Sunday’s game.
