Kate Winslet &  Leonardo DiCaprio Help Save the Life of 28 Yr Old Mom With Cancer

Rose and Jack to the rescue! Former Titanic costars and friends Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio teamed up to help save the life of a 28-year-old mother named Gemma Nuttall who is battling cancer. Nuttall, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was pregnant, refused potentially life-saving treatment because she would have been forced to terminate her pregnancy. After her daughter was born, she was told she had 6 months to live. Winslet surprised the woman, by calling in during her appearance on British talk show This Morning yesterday and revealing that she had started a Go Fund Me page for the woman, raising nearly $280,000 –so that she could start immunotherapy, a treatment that can cost up to $98,000 a visit.  Winslet said she wanted to raise more for her, “I phoned Leo and I said, ‘Do you think we could do a charity dinner or something?’ And he said, ‘Let’s go one better. Come with me to St. Tropez, to my big fundraiser for the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation … And we will auction off a dinner with Jack and Rose.’” They auctioned off 3 dinners with “Jack and Rose” in July and ended up raising $1.35 million to be split between Nuttall and DiCaprio’s foundation, which focuses on conservation.

Congratulations are in order for John Stamos and his new wife, actress Caitlin McHugh. The couple, which has a baby on the way, wed over the weekend. Stamos and McHugh unfortunately got some bad news on the same weekend they exchanged vows: her hotel room was robbed; police say burglars stole $165,000 in jewelry she was planning on wearing during the ceremony from her room at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The pieces of jewelry, which have not yet been described, were on loan from Neil Lane Jewelry. It’s unclear how the thief (or thieves) entered McHugh’s room; the only detail being reported is that there was no indication of forced entry.
