In a live video posted on Facebook, his fellow officers can be heard acknowledging Ledoux for years of hard work.

“After more than 31 years of service to the town of Southbridge, Officer Duane Ledoux badge 1041 is retiring and giving his final code five,” a fellow officer is heard saying over the radio. “I wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. Congratulations brother.” Ledoux held back tears and thanked his colleagues, his family and his sons, Nick and Nate. According to WCBV Boston, Nick died in a car accident years ago. Ledoux thought his other son, Nate was somewhere across the country. Little did he know, his son had flown across the country to surprise his father on his last day.
