Boston Common Tree Lighting

MAGIC 106.7, The City of Boston, and The Province of Nova Scotia present the 79th Annual Official Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 3rd from 7pm-8pm on WCVB Channel 5! Due to Public Health guidance, there will be no in-person outdoor event this year.

Tune in with Chronicle anchors Anthony Everett and Shayna Seymour, and your MAGIC hosts David O’Leary and Sue Tabb, as the holiday season kicks off with an evening of fun and entertainment. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh will flip the switch to light up Boston’s Official Christmas Tree, a 45-foot white spruce from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

The evening will feature Grammy-award winning super star SHAGGY!, acclaimed Celtic artists from Nova Scotia The Barra MacNeils as well as Sarah and Elizabeth MacInnis with Jenny MacKenzie, Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops; from “Hamilton” the musical, Winchester’s own Nicholas Christopher; The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, and SANTA!

Don’t miss the Boston Parks and Recreation Department's 79th Annual Tree Lighting only on WCVB Channel 5!
